Today I created an Earth setup in Cinema 4D and Redshift. It’s basically a surface sphere, a cloud sphere and a volumetric atmosphere.
The maps are downloadable from NASA but also included as 16k versions in the project file. For the clouds I used subsurface scattering to give them some self illumination and a volumetric look.
For the atmosphere I normally create a third sphere with a set of Fresnel shaders. But for the first time I used a spherical volume and a Redshift volume shader to create volumetric scattering and absorption.
It is by far not physically correct and off scale, but I like the result.

Ich lade es heute nacht neu hoch. Aber die Materialien und Shader sind in Redshift gemacht. Da brauchst du zumindest die Demo. Vielleicht mache ich demnächst noch C4D Shader dazu.
